Day Four in Ireland - Letterkenny to LoughDerg to Sligo (North West Ireland)

We left Letterkenny early this morning and headed for Lough Derg (St. Patricks Purgatory) which is an island.  The drive there was very scenic, breathtaking.  The mountains of County Donegal are something to behold.  On the was we introduced PJ (Bus Driver) to Buddy Wasisname, and some of our saying and expressions.  Lough Derg is an ancient site of pilgrimage dating back to St. Patrick 5th century.  What a privilege it was to celebrate mass together in such a holy place.  The hospitality was second to none.  Many young people there to help us with music and as tour guides was quite inspiring.  We then headed towards the city of Donegal onto Sligo.  This is quite a nice city the hotel we are in is quite something.  We had sometime to walk around and see the city.  We visited Sligo Abbey dating back to the 13th century, and it was one of the only Abbeys to survive the reformation and not be destroyed.   It was quite the place, to see and touch a place, a wall, an altar dating back over 700 years is really moving.  We then headed for the hotel,  and had a lovely meal at the hotel, and then some of the crowd went to a local tourist attraction a pub called the Harp.
